Shut off outdoor water valves from inside.

Open outdoor faucets to drain remaining water.

Wrap pipe insulation sleeves around exposed pipes.

Put faucet covers on all outdoor spigots.

For critical pipes, apply heat tape and plug it in before the first freeze.
