Materials
- Drywall patch kit $6–$12
- Joint compound $8
- Sandpaper (120 and 220 grit) $4
- Primer and matching paint $15–$30
Steps

Clean the area and remove loose bits.

Apply the patch over the hole.

Spread joint compound in thin, even coats — two or three.

Sand smooth between coats.

Prime, paint, and you're done.
Tip
Thinner coats dry faster and sand smoother. Patience beats speed here.
